WHEN GOD CREATED ADAM
God has explained the creation of Adam (Peace be upon him) in the Holy Quran as follows:
And remember when your Lord said to the angels: “Verily, I am about to place on the earth (one that shall rule as) My deputy.” they replied: “Will You place therein one that will make mischief and shed blood, while we glorify You with praises and sanctify Your name?” He said: “I know what you know not.”
And He taught Adam the names of all things, then He set the objects of these names before the angles saying: “Tell Me the names of these, if you are truthful.”
They said: “Glory to be You! We have no knowledge except what You have given us, surely, it is You, the All-Knowing, the All-Wise.” God said: “O Adam, inform them their names,” and when he had told them their names, He said: “Did I not say to you, I know the hidden things of the heavens and the earth, and I know all what you reveal and all what you conceal?”
And remember when We said to the angels: “Bow down and prostrate (in respect) yourself before Adam,” and they all prostrated. But Iblis (Satan) did not, who in his pride refused and become one of the disbelievers.
And We said: “O Adam, dwell you and your wife in the Garden, and eat therefrom plentifully wherever you desire, but never approach this tree, otherwise you both will become of the transgressors.”
But Satan caused them both to slip from it and caused their banishment from the place in which they were.
And We said: “Get you all down; each of you is enemy to the other, the earth will be your dwelling-place, and will provide your sustenance for a time ordained.”
Then Adam learnt from his Lord certain words of prayer. So God turned towards Adam with mercy. Surely He is the Relenting One, and the Merciful.
We said: “Go you down hence, all of you. Whenever there comes to you guidance from Me, then those who shall follow My guidance, there shall be no fear upon them nor shall they grieve.” But those who will disbelieve and deny Our signs, shall be the inmates of the Fire, therein shall they abide forever.
[The Holy Qur’an, Chapter 2:30-39]
BE AWARE OF SATAN!
O children of Adam!
Let not Satan tempt you, in the same manner as he got your parents out of the Garden, stripping them of their raiment, to expose their shame. Indeed he and his tribe watch you from a postion where you cannot see them. We made the devils allies (only) to those who do not believe.
[The Holy Qur’an, Chapter 7:27]
Prophets of Allah
Allah alone has knowlege of true number and names of messengers and prophets chosen by Him. Allah’s guidance to mankind began with Adam (peace be upon him) and was completed with Muhammad (peace be upon him). In the Quran, God has mentioned the twenty-five most prominent messengers and prophets by name:
peace be upon them all.
